The Department for Education’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy for Education states that ‘by 2025, all education settings will have nominated a sustainability lead and put in place a climate action plan’. This includes early years settings, schools, multi-academy trusts, colleges, and universities.
Join us for a focused briefing session introducing the Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy and the role you will play within it. This short session is designed specifically for childminders, and will outline your responsibilities in meeting the Department for Education’s climate goals and show how you can confidently take the lead in building a more sustainable future through everyday practice.
We will look at:
- The UK’s climate education strategy
- The 17 UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
- How to implement environment sustainability into your setting
- How to connect your practice to national and global environmental priorities
- Practical tools to develop a climate action plan for your setting
- Ways you can inspire positive action in children, families, and your wider community
