About this event

Imagine a world where your childminding setting shines with excellence.

Your first Ofsted inspection usually takes place around 18 months after registration. After that, the timing of your next inspection will depend on the grade you receive. Knowing what to expect helps you approach the process with confidence and ensures you can showcase the very best of your setting.

On this course, you’ll discover:

  • Before your inspection: What Ofsted will do in advance, how much notice you’ll receive, and what you can do to prepare.

  • During your inspection: How inspectors evaluate your setting, what the inspection day involves, and the key activities and observations they use to assess your practice.

  • Evaluation areas and grading: A clear explanation of the inspection framework, the grading scale, and what each grade means for your future inspections.

  • Focus areas: Insight into important topics such as your curriculum, cultural capital, and the quality of adult-child interactions.

  • After your inspection: What happens once your inspection is complete, including how your report is written, when it will be published, and what steps come next.

Why Take This Course?

  • Build confidence by understanding the full inspection process.

  • Get practical tips to help you demonstrate the quality of care and learning in your setting.
