Your first Ofsted inspection usually takes place around 18 months after registration. After that, the timing of your next inspection will depend on the grade you receive. Knowing what to expect helps you approach the process with confidence and ensures you can showcase the very best of your setting.

Before your inspection: What Ofsted will do in advance, how much notice you’ll receive, and what you can do to prepare.
During your inspection: How inspectors evaluate your setting, what the inspection day involves, and the key activities and observations they use to assess your practice.
