This in-depth exploration will examine how the youngest of children acquire vocabulary. We’ll explore how to support the critical journey of putting words together for meaningful communication.

We’ll consider the hands-on, daily implications of developing language together, along with further ideas for supporting children who find language acquisition more challenging.

This workshop will be an excellent opportunity to think differently about what we do with our children, to refresh our awareness or to learn something new. You will go away with a host of ideas making use of everyday resources or activities, and with confidence in your practice.

Emma Spiers 'The Learning Lady', is an Early Learning Consultant, trainer, and former Early Years Ofsted Inspector, with a passion for all things Early Language, Literacy, and Pre-Phonics. She is also an Amazon 5 Star author, with books including the popular pre-phonics programme 'Super Sounds' which was a Teach Early Years Finalist in 2022. Emma has an ever growing YouTube channel full of pre-phonic ideas and an extensive pre-phonics Pinterest collection to support practitioners and parents for free!
