This document can be used to track children’s learning and development on a regular basis and can also be used for the 2 year progress check report
About this resource
The EYFS requires you to assess childrens learning and development and to share this information with parents. This document can help you regularly share children's progress with parents and help you track whether the child has reached the expected levels of development.
The Government have made it clear that they don't want tracking development to be via a tick list. This form gives you an area to write short statements for each area of learning to show the childs current development. Used 3 times a year, this gives a good visual account of each childs progression and the next steps you have identified to aid further progression.
Completing this form gives you a record which draws together observations that you have documented along with your knowledge of the child’s development. This is a summary of what the child has achieved since their last assessment and enables you to monitor how a child is progressing since starting at your setting. It also includes space to record next steps for the child for the next term.
This form can also be used as the compulsory 2 year progress check report, saving you valuable time.
